What was your first job

article image placeholderUploaded by @yourdadspodcast
I lasted about three days. They didn't schedule me very much about once a week, because I had so many school activities going on that I really wasn't part of. But they were activities at school that I wrote down because I didn't want to work that much. I don't know why I got the job in the first place. But my daughter, she's been looking forward to getting her first job

What was your first job and why did you get that job.

I'm not sure if you know of that company, but I worked at their flagship store and I think I was like 15. I got a special permit of some kind to work there, and it was interesting, to say the least. It was busy. It was the one at Universal Studios, so it was constantly mobbed. It was very corporate because the store was trying to expand at that time

Oh, Taylor, that was a great story. Just amazing. And your payments are hey, I love this question, dad. I'm going to call you dad. My first job. I laughed, by the way, about keeping your job for three days as a bus boy. The first time I actually worked in the service industry as a waitress, I had it for one day, so I beat you by two days

Hey. I love this long walk down memory lane. I did a lot of, like, interning and volunteering, so I don't know what counts as, like, a first job, but I would say, like, I spent a couple of months every summer working volunteering at this Sea Turtle nonprofit, and part of my job was wearing a big turtle costume, like, thick and furry in 90 degree weather

The director will get it out of you. And I was like, Okay. That's kind of scary, but okay. But it was super fun. It was a really great experience. I was playing this girl who is talking to her dad on FaceTime or Skype or whatever. So I had to be looking at the camera the entire time with a whole film crew around and looking at me. And I didn't really get to act with anybody else, which I wish I had

Hey, Tony, this is a great question and a great swell. Took me a little while to get around to it, but I'm just listening to it and everyone else's response these past few days was pretty cool. I have kind of like a splitto job thing. My first kind of official on the books with a corporation job was with Target. I grew up in Australia, so in Sydney I was working at the largest Target store in Australia

My first job in high school was working for the public library downtown. The main branch, three floors of books. And my duties were to go down to the basement or go out to the what do they call, the auto check in the drop off box. I had to empty those cart, those books back into the basement

@yourdadspodcast I meant Amherst, NH and NOT MA

And I was 14 and for lunch, I would have been happy with a hot dog, but they would always cook me something that was the special of the day. And I remember one of the first times they did that, they gave me the swordfish with a dill kind of sauce that was just absolutely unbelievable and really got a taste of fine dining. I don't know whether to thank them or curse them because of that, but it was something special there

They tore it down and then they built a bigger, like, Galaxy Theater, I think it's called. So that was a sad time when I went back to visit and not seeing it there. But, yeah, we always have the memories

#firstjob

Hi, Tony. What a coincidence. My first job is for pardes and recreation at the local zoo as a payroll clerk. I was 16, not 14. But what I learned from the experience was being a payroll clerk was definitely not what I wanted to do. I did stay throughout the entire summer, but when summer ended, I I was done. Good luck to your daughter. I hope her experience on her first job is amazing and she has lots of fun

So I make a little cheeseburger real quick, stop some mayonnaise on there, ketchup, mustard, and wrap it up. And one of the new trash bags, let me specify was a new trash bag that I was fixing and changed, swapped the garbage out with and replace it with the new bag. So I wrapped the little cheeseburger up in that and take all my little utensils to change the trash and clean up outside. And I'd take it outside and I'd eat it
