An empty seat at the table with their name written with their name written on it in invisible ink as we elbow our way towards midnight, all I can think of is trying not to look back, not to linger on what has fallen into the ditch, but on the steady thrumming of wagon wheels and the way a horse can squat a fly with its tail as we rumble towards this new year. I felt the Pang of what nostalgia really is, which is what you discover, what you described as sort of a little hanging on of a moment that has already passed. And I like how I think you said that the end of the year is like, I think I don't know if you use the word celebration. So forgive me if I'm wrong of what's lost. But I guess a recollection or a reflection on what's lost. And that is really true

And that one was not on the list, and that one is on the list. It's the societal construct that it's such a tradition. And I just think it's such a terrible idea. Let's just Whittle it all down and know he didn't make the list, and it just really sits wrong with me. And I feel like I kind of underspoke that in this piece because it's something that we tend to do. Then it makes us judge our year
