Audiobook recommendations? 🎧 πŸ“– 🎧

article image placeholder90S 80S GIF by Doctor Popular - Find & Share on GIPHY
Hey, swell. So I am in a position where I have several audiobook credits that I need to use up before they expire. And I would love your recommendations. I love listening to audiobooks, but I've definitely noticed just a really big difference between some of them depending on who reads them. So it would really help me if I knew some of your favorite to listen to who are some of the best performers? Do you think I and what should I be listening to? Thank you

You wanted audiobook recommendations???

And the audio didn't take away from the story. So that's my take on it. This is really great. There's a book that's coming out. Oh, I don't know when the release date is it's the switch and it's adorable. It's so cute. It's not a serious book at all. It's just absolutely cute. And I just absolutely love it. That one. I listened to an audio, but I don't know when that's coming out

My suggestions..

Hey Rachel, here are my suggestions. There's a good chance that you might have already heard these, but here goes anyways. The first one is a must have for any audiobook collection. Is Trevor Nova's born a crime trenoa himself narrates this and he does an absolutely stunning job with bringing out every character and his narration style is unbelievable. It's almost like being in his show. Next on the list is the Harry Potter series narrated by Jim Dale

I don't have that in front of me. That just came to mind. I don't know the author, but also Andrew Yang wrote The War on Normal People, and it's really good. Good luck. Enjoy

Okay, how do I edit this? I'm new to this. It was actually Utopia for realists, not Idealists by Roger Bregman. Read by Peter Noble. And then on a more positive note, after The Politics Positivity by Barbara Fredrickson, it's really good, very practical, a lot of alliteration there. I'll just congratulate myself on that. Pat myself on the back. Enjoy

Born a Crime and Leaving Time

Hey, jumping in on this? Well, I'm in the middle of two things, so I haven't listened to other people's suggestions, but I will. I'm a big audiobook fan. Two things that are great for audiobooks is Born a crime. Trevor Noah. I mean, Hello, him reading him. Hello. Hello. The one is a book I listened to about two years ago called Leaving Tim by Jodi Picult. Like a mystery. And you learn about elephants

And oh, my gosh bookish podcast. I put all of your suggestions on my list for Goodreads. So when and if I get to them, I will let you know about them, because when I was reading about each of them, they sound amazing. So the reading never ends. Thank you all again. Please feel free to add more if you think of them or you finish something soon. I actually am in the middle of listening to an Esther Pearl book

A recent stand out for me.

Yes, a narrator can make or break the book for me. For the most part, narrators don't stand out to me unless they're bad, right? But recently I came across one that he he kind of made it sound like there was an entire cast, and it was just him. And his name is Joe. Jamieson, J-A-M as in Mom E-S-O-N. And I heard him first in Traders Blade by Sebastian Dee Castell

And he's now released an audio app for putting people to sleep because apparently his voice is so horrific. Who is it? Tell me his name not Rowan Wilson. Who's the other guy? He's in loads of movies. That Sci-Fi movie where he goes away to space. And then he's daughter. Ages live. Tyler, remember her name? Help me out people

Matthew McConaugh. Hey, I didn't Google it. It just came to me. The dementia left long enough for me to retrieve some information

Three recommendations for #audiobooks

And the third recommendation I'm going to have is Milkman, a novel by Anna Burns about a young woman growing up in Belfast during the Troubles who's being pursued romantically by a paramilitary operative. Breed Brennan is an actor in Ireland, and she just brings the story, this character to life so well. And it's interesting because in the novel itself, none of the characters actually have names

The other in the biography category was this was a while ago, but is The Mother of Black Hollywood by Jennifer Lewis and Jennifer Lewis is such a bold, bright, engaging, and hilarious personality that hearing her tell her own stories of her life was just great. I enjoyed it so much that's one of those cases where I actually believe the audiobook is probably far better than if you just sat down and read the book. And that's pretty rare

Okay, Rachel, right before I recorded this, I sent a text to my friend Jennifer. So I called you Jennifer. So I apologize, Rachel, from here on out, you will be known as Jennifer. Think of it this way we could link it this way. Jennifer Aniston played Rachel in France. So, Dee, it sort of is full circle, kind of maybe a little bit. Okay, so this is the problem with not being able

@mark

Mark, I just listened to your post then, and I was like, Holy s***, I called her the wrong name. Her name is actually Jennifer, not Rachel. And then I listen to this post of yours and that it was you, not I that made that mistake

I don't know if you guys get into that issue, but I did not know Donato was a book narrator. So that was good to know. Catch and Kill. Who mentioned that Catch and Kill by Rowan Farrow? Oh, my goodness. Yes. Absolutely. Add it to your list to listen to. Oh, wow. That was yes. Gripping. I was at the edge of my seat. I was like, wow. I mean, the webs and the deceits and the intrigues
