What to do after a house fire?

article image placeholderUploaded by @allowthesun
I'm hoping I will know more details today, but since I can't really do much right now, I thought this is what's so great about this app is maybe someone out there just can have some friendly advice that I can pass on to my family moving forward. And it's just there's kind of a history of fires in my family. My grandma's mobile home years ago had a fire, my cousin and now my parents and my family home

I'm so sorry to hear about this trauma. It's a trauma that stays with you for a while. I can't imagine. I have tagged a few people who have background and mental military and in sort of show capacity to understand this kind of thing. I don't understand it at all. I imagine there might be a person who is a firefighter on this app, but I just want to take a moment to acknowledge the family trauma that it causes

@DBPardes

It gets better, and I'm sure you're doing all you can. It's hard, I imagine, being far away and on the other side of the coast. It's just good that you're there for your family, and when they want to talk, you're there to listen. And it's a grieving process. It really is. It's just like with anything else, any change, there's always a breathing process

And then also right now, I think they're just in survival mode, but at the same time just so grateful that they are safe. But I really appreciate your message and definitely will keep everyone posted on here

And I think that one resonates just this gut feeling that you're just like it's like, in your bones. But I really appreciate your message about just that they're safe and not things and items that can be bought and memories live within you. That's just such a beautiful way to put it. And yeah, I really am just still not sure what to do. Like I had mentioned in my response to Deborah, they're just in survival mode right now

I know you want to be here, but everyone's doing okay, and there's enough support and help so that it's nothing that you have to burden yourself if that you feel like you have to do more than just be there emotionally for everybody
