But my mother presented her version of events, and I felt inclined to give her some daughterly advice, right, because on one hand, I want to protect my brother, and I want to respect his boundaries with my mother, with our mother, but I also want to hear my mother out and give her the chance to explain herself. So as she's doing that, I can tell that she's getting more increasingly defensive and she just disregards everything that I say

I have literally tried to distance myself from my mother as much as possible and deal with her from a distance. But even loving her from a distance is taking a toll on me. And so I feel at this point, I'm going to go back into my shell and protect myself and protect my marriage and protect my sanity. And so if this resonates with any of you all out there, please let me know so that we can chat about it, because I really do need to discuss further
