Chop Wood, Carry Water: Why PRACTICE is the reward!

article image placeholderUploaded by @ZazenQuest
What the parable is kind of telling us is that once you achieve these states through the practice or the discipline that you're engaged in, you have to return to reality, return to society, and continue doing the work. In the case of meditation, we have these states that we can reach. We reach certain states of peace, tranquility, we release certain things, and we mind new perspective. But that doesn't mean that we're done with meditation, right, or done with mindfulness

What do we need to keep in mind as we grow #mindfulness #personalgrowth #coaching

I think it's also a very generational thing if you grow up in speed and the immediacy of the social world that is now defined by the digital social space. The reward of something is so fast because people measure things in the consumption of others of your thing. But you're talking about the beauty of practicing something and having the ritual be its own reward and getting and seeing growth and seeing that you're getting better at it. It's really amazing. I'm struggling with cello

It's an addiction, in a way, because we become so harnessed by the idea or the feeling of that dopamine rush. Right. Whereas the practice in and of itself is reductive of that dopamine rush. It's reductive of the consumer mentality that we're programmed with in this world. And so that's a nice piece to add on there

Hey, Christopher. This is Baba here. And yes, your swell is always good. I would always wish to hear because it is always positive and there's nothing that you can't learn from the speech that you give. So coming to the point, as you said, practice. Yes, the more you practice, the more you you indulge yourself and you put your dedication 100%. You'll get it perfect. That's what we believe. The three piece practice makes a person perfect

We do something in order to get to a space where we're not acting anymore, where we're at a neutral state. It's a reductive act. Right. So in a way, after a while, your seated practice transcends being something that only occurs when you're seated, and it spills over into other areas of your life. I know. I think I remember correctly. You're a teacher. Your teaching becomes a meditation. Doing the dishes becomes a meditation

Thank you so much, Christopher. Yes, I would definitely try to practice it, as you said. And my mother's actually kept on saying and still she keeps on saying the same thing. So now when finally I've got one more person who says that you do it just for your good, then I feel that it's almighty's order that you have to do it and definitely do it. And shortly we'll keep you informed the day I start and I continue to do
