True leadership…what does it look like?

article image placeholderUploaded by @WarPig73
Do you have a leader that's in charge of you, that is open to ideas, that's open to listening to people in the trenches fighting daily the battles of that position, that title, that instate. Do you have a leader who understands the difference between mission statement and vision statement? Are you afraid of confrontation as a leader? If you are, then maybe leadership is not your cup of tea. A leader stands up for its people. It's lonely at the top

You're absolutely 100% correct about sacrifice being part of leadership, servant, mental body. And sacrifice, beautiful, transparent thought with a profound impact. So thank you so much for putting that in there, for adding that to our conversation. Have a blessed day. Bye, you

But in business, when you're running a business, you can't have somebody, you know, pointing and do this, do this, do that, and you're not building your team up, you're not giving them props, so to speak, where it's needed, and then you're taking all the credit for everything that was improved upon or everything that looks good now. You stand triumphant with your chest out

Your view of what leadership looks like starts at a young age! @Jandrea @WarPig73

And so the goal, obviously, in any situation is to build new leaders because eventually, in one shape or another, they're going to lead somebody, somewhere, somehow. So I guess to your point and the reason for having this conversation is if we don't have leaders in place that are building up and pouring into the people that they're leading or creating a situation where we really don't have strong leaders in place and we need them

And I remember looking at my immediate leadership, and I told them, as the boys were looking at me, and I said to him, you know what, gentlemen? Failure is always an option. Failure is always an option. And I remember telling one of my closest, most endearing friends in the world, who was over there twice with me before he got out of the core. I said he was having this really frustrating moment talking to, quote, unquote, his people

But sharing burdens, it's a process that demands relevant, transparent values and intentions. If they see that I am transparent, they follow. They're free in a safe environment to ask the questions that are sometimes uncomfortable and they understand. I believe in trust and value what they have to say. And then lastly, I'll end up with this. A closed minded leader always closes minds. And I love your point about humility. J 2019 says it's beautiful

But just the fact that they were able to when they ministered to the people across the pulpit, I just love that they didn't seem so out of reach in order to reach people. So that made me it's the reason why I'm still in that ministry. That's all I wanted to say. I was listening to your feedback to Easyspeaks and myself, and I like this dialogue. I like this platform, and I'm looking forward to hearing so much more

It does not get defined by such parameters. What works in one location, in one situation does not necessarily need to work elsewhere. More often than not, we find it doesn't. And so, to me, there isn't an absolute definition of leadership, because there would be times where you need to be prescriptive with your team and say, don't get intelligent

True leaders never, ever stop and say, I'm a good leader. It's more, I'm in the process of always becoming a good leader, and you really brought that home. So I just wanted to thank you for this additional voice here

Yes. Good morning. I really enjoyed what today's topic was about leadership and what it looked like. We live in a nation, the United States, where leadership is not really shown very thoroughly because they don't come together and focus on the issue at hand. That means making sure the people of America is taken care of the right way. It has been like that for many years. There's really a hard way to explain leadership

Are you willing to allow your people, through your example, to make conscious decisions, even when it goes against your own grain? Business relationships, military, law enforcement, medical rooms, teaching. If you truly have lost the desire to be in the spot that you're at, are you considered a good leader? What if a person becomes acrimonious, angry, disheveled? I mean, I was going at the point of true leadership. What makes and what is true leadership outside of styles?

He could have been like, you know what? I changed my mind. I'm going to take my place without a father and just let the world fight for itself. So anyway, I hope I have not rambled, but you're right. Here's something funny. I found this from Noel Webster house of the Republic. This guy was in the 1789 time frame. He said, and I quote, god commands you to choose for rulers, just men who will rule in the fear of God

The way you ended that swell is right on. And I think definitely as a leader and shouldn't be, but it is it's a learning curve because in your leadership courses, they don't teach you to be a person and be human and go get to know those people. And the question comes up is, what if, as an individual, you don't crave, you don't desire, you don't require that personal relationship and connection in order to get the job done?

@WarPig73 Reluctant Leaders in Environments

Long story short, he ended up pushing me into a position of leadership which I didn't see in myself at the time. And he obviously recognized that in me. Cut. Two years later I dip in and out of leadership and management positions in my education institution and I've noticed that my brother does exactly the same and we are reluctant leaders. So what we found is people want us to be in charge, but we don't necessarily want that position

@WarPig73 #Leadership nuggets of gold. Leadership is more about the people, not just the "leader" & it shows. Great topic, important duty. Lead right.

One of them I just mentioned is courage to have people who are better than you in your team, and courage to own up to when you make mistakes and say, you know what, this was the intention, but I got it wrong. Maybe we can learn from this. What are the lessons? How can we be better next time? And the courage to be humble, not just to pass in your experience of success and all of these other things. There is another thing

Excellence. Coach War. Pick 73 here. I've listened to your comments about three times now. And first of all, I appreciate what you do, how you do it, and secondly, I do appreciate the kind words. Keep pushing forward, keep believing, and never look back. I look forward to conversing with you soon or paying. Take 73

A very great advice, and every leader should, you know, follow it. I'm currently pursuing my bachelor's in human resource, and when I work in corporate, it will really help me to know about this form of leadership and everything. So thank you so much. Bye
