Occam’s Razor Simple is Better

article image placeholderUploaded by @Urbanlegends
It translates literally to plurality must never be posted without necessity, and quote, in other words, all else being equal, simplicity is the best. So is this actually true? Is the simplest explanation usually the best one? Well, not exactly. Ackm never said that complexity is inherently inferior to simplicity, nor did he declare complex explanations to be inherently wrong. Complex scientific questions often demand complex answers, and it's not at odds with Occam's Razor

Hey, Bob, can you give us a real world example of this? Because I've heard this I know the phrase, I know the concept, but I always have trouble seeing it applied to better a situation. And I'm wondering if you have, like, a tangible it doesn't have to be a world example. It could be a personal example, but where this is applied and it helps parse out the next step or the or the final solution or whatever people are looking for

Those are the ones that were used back 10,000 years ago when I had a class with the dinosaurs, mind you. And that historic up with me ever since. Thank you

And now comes, as I told you, go with the simplest explanation, simplest way of looking at the world, than in a very complicated way, right? So that is how I came across it. And it has been a useful tool. I went to an engineering school and I think as an engineer, this is a great tool to have to think simply to go after the most obvious, simplest explanation and not get caught up in conspiracy theories

Thank you for your compliments. I really appreciate it. It's always great to hear from somebody, and especially somebody who connects and understands the concept behind whatever the podcast happens to be. In this case, of course, the Occams. So I just wanted to say thank you very much for participating
