And basically what she said to me was something to the effect around she had been reading all these reports about women in leadership, and year over year, black women continued to be left way behind. And she said that she's doing all that at that time, she's doing all that she could to stay ahead of the curve to prove her value. But she was starting to feel more and more discouraged

And even as I did work a regular job and consider the regular career path, that drive to be who I am authentically meant tapping into my own ways of income, creating my own wealth. Now, today I run a spy and wellness business, so the conversation of self care definitely is high in my world. And so again, I know that that's not always everybody's path

And that happens a lot not only in corporate, but as an entrepreneur. I've been out on my own as entrepreneur for 13 years, and I will tell you that the scope creep that could happen as a consultant, as a coach, as a trainer, the scope creep that can happen can happen very subtly if we're not really paying attention to it. And so when you're looking at it from that perspective, you can find yourself being trapped in the spokes of invisible, unpaid labor

Oh, my goodness. Yes, yes, and yes. My black girl magic, I am protective of it because it truly is. And we we all have it, right? And one is not better than the other. It it's only more unique, right? Because I've been saying this a lot lately. Not even our fingerprints are the same

Hi, I thank you for this talk and this is really a great topic in regard to black women because I do notice that we tend to get caught up in our black girl magic and wearing a cape and trying to save everyone or try to appease everyone. But we have to remember that rest is our birthright and we have to try to get back to that. I'm a yoga teacher and I noticed that a lot of my clients, they are hung up on not having time for themselves

I mean, if you're still stuck in that comparison bug in an unhealthy way, then it's going to be much more difficult. And so, yeah, I'm glad that you surfaced that piece around living a soft life because so very important. So. Thank you, Queen. Thanks for tapping in
