Layla had married the war hero pilot, and I was shipped off to her. I remember parts of that journey. I went from Naples to New York on a large passenger ship alone. The ship's crew was assigned to watch over me, and I lived in a cabin in the belly of the ship with three adult women

Andrea, this story is so otherworldly to most people hearing it probably. What a gift you gave us by telling it. And what a gift that you are a storyteller. And I cannot wait to hear more stories from you. So grateful you found well and so happy you are alive and well and able to just be a messenger of so many messages, not just of your own story, but more over the theme of incredible resilience and reminding us of what we lost in that war

You. Thank you. I cannot tell you how much your words mean to me and how telling these stories is opening up so much that I hope will be an inspiration to other people to understand about not giving up. So again, thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Bye

Oh, my goodness, Andrea, that was so beautiful. Just moving and rich with the history of the world, but all told through a very personal lens of your family. Congratulations on getting out alive and living to tell this tale

Thank you. Wendy. You're the one who makes it possible to open up and tell those stories authentically, so thank you
