What are you reading today?

And I'm happy because today I'm going to finally start a new book, one I've been wanting to read for a while and that I finally got the library called Stay True. It's by a staff writer from The New Yorker, and it's described as a gripping memoir on friendship, grief, the search for self, and the solace that can be found through art

Course of Love or something of the sort. The first book he put out, I think he put it out when he was 24 or something. And then there's Brianna, who put her first book out, which is this 101 Essays at Age 26. And all the criticism, it's so different. Elaine was called he was called a genius, whereas she is being called arrogant. And I'm like, it's difficult to ignore the beast here, isn't it?

Really, how can I align it versus just reading it and saying, oh, that was a great read, but really, how can I take the material and begin to slowly and methodically incorporate that into my day? So by the time I finish the book, it's almost as if I am a master or subject matter expert in that realm. So that's where I'm at. I'm reading Pitch Anything, and so far, the two to three pages I've read was very insightful

And also I just think it's so interesting as a writer to learn from all kinds of creative people and their process, because I found that there's a lot of crossover actually, which it sounds like you do too. So if you learned anything else as we've again from your reading or after, would love to hear more about it. For sure

I actually was only able to read the first little bit, but I am hoping I can finish this book at some point this week because it's currently overdue with the library and it is less than 200 pages, so it's a bit shorter. That may be possible in my little reading times before bed, but I also am in the middle of trying to finish another book, which I'm finished tonight, so we'll see

But because of the way how the person is delivering it and not going in for the kill with the novelty, then we dismiss it and that person doesn't get a chance to really pitch an idea, a product, a concept that could benefit people. So far am in. I look forward to my reading time in the morning again, but definitely a great read. I highly recommend it

This is What I’m Currently Reading

And then this month is, I think, International Women's Month, but it's also National Reading Month or Book Month or something like that. I'm probably getting it wrong. So I committed to making sure that I read every day that I didn't skip a day throughout the month of March, and tomorrow is the last day. And so I started a book at the beginning of the month, and it's called Braiding Sweetgrass, and it's by Robin Wall Kimmer
