It’s Your Job | From One Parent To Another

That's because I'm constantly reminding myself that my position is to teach and to guide my little ones to a more successful adulthood. Give them the tools they need or supply them with the tools they need to be more successful adults, right? So as I remind myself, I remind you as a parent, our duty is to lead, to guide, to teach. Okay? Be very careful about making excuses for our babies

So I just really appreciate your conviction and your sense of purpose around this conversation, and I really look forward to more voices here and just listening to your swell cast in general. So thanks so much for being here

Hey. For you to recognize my isolation, so to speak, says a lot about your mental powers, and I admire that. It's also a sign for me to keep going. I'm on lunch break, so I have to make this very short. I'm blaming it on lunch break, but no, I'm long winded and I'll talk forever, but it's a sign for me to keep going. So thank you

I do want to teach and to guide, and I feel like most importantly, I want him to feel well on the inside before looking good on the outside. I feel like my parents have been very much guided by this achievement and success and pushing many, many extra curriculum activities and being very competitive in all kinds of contests and everything. I think from the outside, I can look so brilliant or whatever achievements and good on paper

I spend a lot of time equipping them with the tools they need to meet the demands of the environment, but not necessarily understanding who I am and how I feel and what I really want and what I really need. And, yeah, I teach them to do critical thinking. Like, why did I choose to do that? And what would have been the best decision, but not necessarily, how was I feeling? You know, I always ask, what were you thinking?
