NO Lower Brain

article image placeholderUploaded by @ThriveLauraMonk
I don't know if you've ever noticed this, but you can be having a discussion with someone and they seem pretty calm and rational, and then all of a sudden, you say something, and they immediately, like, it flips a switch, and they just get wildly defensive and start screaming and yelling, and we can drop from our upper brain into our lower brain in a nanosecond. It does not take hardly any time at all to drop

🌱 Laura talks about how to keep others out of their lower brain. #Swell #Brain #Communication #Relationships.

👉🏻 Continued (Part 2)

So you can't unhear what you've heard, and we can't take back our words. So be very, very careful and don't speak when you're in your lower brain. Stay quiet until you can get back into your upper brain. And that is when you want to express yourself. Don't express yourself when you're in your lower brain, because usually that doesn't lead anywhere productive. Remember, we want to respond, not react

Hi, Laura. Thank you so much for sharing this. Yes, this was indeed very, very informative. And yes, we have to be very careful with the choice of our words and the way we phrase our sentences. Just a little bit of shift, just a little bit of change in the way we frame our sentences can have a whole lot of impact on the mind, on the attitude of the other person. Thank you so much, dear, for sharing. There
