Keep your thoughts on the front porch.

And then you observe what it's saying or what they're saying, and you decide whether you want to buy into it or not. So do you want to buy into what the salesman is selling you today? If yes, go ahead and invite it in. If you're not interested in what it's selling you and you don't want to buy into it, then you send it on its way and tell it to go bye bye

The observer is not separate from these things. They're all sort of interwoven. And how does one then analyze or look at one's thoughts without using thought? I guess there's multiple questions. If emotions and thoughts are to be kept on the front porch, what does that leave as part of us? And as an observer? That's the first question. And then, as the observer, how does one distinguish between thoughts that are on the front porch and thoughts that are of the observer?

@SeekingPlumb

So you listen to your thoughts without assuming that your thoughts are you and not assuming that your thoughts are truth or even reality. And a lot of people do make that assumption with their thoughts. They assume if they think it, then it must be true, or it must be reality or it must be them. And that's the furthest from the truth
