Meditation - Why it’s so important and how to do it 🙏🏻

So by accessing the present moment, we truly come alive. Now, I'm going to go over some techniques for meditating because a lot of people think that meditating is sitting down in lotus or Indian style position and clearing the mind and having zero thoughts. And although that is a form of meditation, that is most certainly not the only form of meditation. There are several forms of meditation, and I'm going to go over them with you in this podcast

🌱 Laura talks about how to meditate and the benefits of meditation. (Part 1 of 4) #MentalWellness #MentalHealth #Meditation

Or you can do your meditations while laying in bed. The important thing to remember is that you are comfortable. You don't want to be meditating if you are uncomfortable. So find a place where you can be comfortable, find a position where you can be comfortable and then do your meditation practice sitting in a chair, you would want to sit with your back straight and upright and placing your hands gently in your lap or on your thighs

And you can also do what they call ujjayi breathing, which is where you breathe in through the mouth and then you exhale with your mouth closed through the back of your throat on the exhale. So it's going to be kind of a loud exhale that you'll hear like an oceanic sound in the deep part of your throat that's a little bit more advanced. Now another type of meditation that you can do is gratitude meditation

So try to practice your meditations, whichever one that you choose, whichever one works best for you on a daily basis because there's so much benefit not only for your mental health but also for your physical health. And once you train your mind to be able to tap into this sense of awareness, it is much easier to reach that sense of well being and peace at any point in your life, especially when you need it the most

❤️ How I like to meditate ❤️

You. I just quickly wanted to go over some of the types of meditations that I personally do and what they look like. And I do different ones every day, just depending upon what my day looks like. But here are some of them. So, for example, I will do mindfulness

And I've had people tell me, you need to stop looking into all the self help stuff or maybe you're obsessing. And my attitude is, I'm not going to linger here. I do not want to stay here. But I do want to understand myself and feel better and have resources to calm myself. And I'm probably like I said, I've heard maybe a few things that you've said in these swells today
