Wabi-Sabi

article image placeholderUploaded by @ThriveLauraMonk
You. Hello, Thrivers? This is Laura Monk from Thrive Therapy and Counseling, and I wanted to go over a concept called wabisabi. It's a Japanese term, and in traditional Japanese aesthetics, wabisabi is a world view centered on the acceptance and transience and imperfection of things. The aesthetic is sometimes described as one of appreciating beauty that is imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete in nature. And it's prevalent in many forms of Japanese art. And why am I talking about this today?
