How to have excuses not sound like excuses!

article image placeholderUploaded by @ThriveLauraMonk
Hello Thrivers. This is Laura Monk with Thrive Therapy and Counseling. And in today's podcast I wanted to talk about how to not make excuses sound like excuses. Often when we upset somebody, the first reaction we have is to want to give them a bunch of excuses to we did that thing that upset them. And this doesn't usually work well for us because the person usually wants to hear an apology. And excuses don't sound like an apology to most people

🌱 Laura gives tips on how to not sound like you’re not making excuses. (Part 1 of 2) #Relationships #CommunicationSkills

And I don't want to get too much into that here, but this is not for those people, because they have to first address why they feel like they can never be wrong, why they feel like they can't apologize, and why they feel like they have to be perfect all the time. So that's a completely separate issue in this podcast
