Imposter Syndrome: Blessing or Curse?

article image placeholderUploaded by @TheMs.Leanne
Never thought too highly of myself, ever. When people gave me a compliment, I shoved it off and I kept thinking, what the h*** is wrong with these people? Why are they complimenting me? I am nothing, nothing to compliment. And as I said, this came up both times during my interviews. And this started me thinking not only about my personal experiences with Impostor Syndrome, but also my special needs parents

But to the extent that people feel like they're going to be found out, I think the more we talk about it, the more we realize that that energy, that fear is so corrosive. You don't want that in your system. You want to feel like, even if this is not 100% me, but I want to project that out, that in itself is you stepping into the role

@TheMs.Leanne This is a great one Leanne. Yes, I have often felt this way about imposter syndrome.

Hey, Leanne. Sorry for this late reply. This is another really great one, I have to say, and one that I really, you know, felt a connection with. I would say for me, with impost. I have often felt imposter syndrome. Impostor syndrome my entire life growing up, feeling very low self esteem, you know, not not feeling like I'm worthy of anything, not really making a difference, not doing well in social situations, feeling awkward at family gatherings and such

Wanted to add a few things.

Even on things via like social media, where I try to put more of my true, positive self out there for others to see, or at least I hope that I do, and that I have seen results over the years of people being inspired by me or being touched by my, you know, personal story with struggles of the CP being adopted, dealing greatly with what life has given me. And, of course, others

Thanks, Nick. I definitely appreciate this reply. I like you again try to put my authentic self out there. It always can be a challenge, but it's definitely a good thing. I do believe that the more positive energy that is out there in the world, the more positive energy will be received. So definitely an interesting point. Hope all is well with you, and it looks like you had a really good time. I'm on your vacation. Thanks. Bye

@TheMs.Leanne You're welcome Leanne. Yes being your True self is always most important. As is more positive energy.

And I also agree with your point about that the more positive energy that is put out, the better the results will be. And better the outcomes will be. It isn't always easy. Agreed. But I have found that the that again, the results and the outcomes are much more rewarding and worth it. And yes, I did have a really good time on my recent vacation. Was quite fun. Thanks so much again. Sending so much love
