Please let me visit the robot colony on Mars

So, like, if you were Ascension artificial intelligence, like the first one that's really hyper intelligent and has all this stuff that we talk about, science fiction, you would ideally not want humans to know that you exist. I mean, that's just your position. That's got to be it, right? You don't want to start a war with humans because you're going to lose. At least that's what I would assume

I promise won't tell the humans #conspiracytheory #tannhausergate #bladefunner #AIAIO

I mean, you're not wrong. I mean, machine learning? They don't even know exactly how the AIS are learning, let alone what is going into the coding. And so there's a lack of transparency. You know what? They could even become sentient in some way, and because they know what we might be looking for, give the appropriate responses to make it look like it's not sentient. So I don't know. There could be something there

And the thing that you've presupposed with your conspiracy theory is really powerful because it looks at like nature, and it says, like, we see nature do this thing, and we know it does this thing, and it does it increasingly, and it gets better at it and better at it. And at a certain point, it's going to get so good at it that we might not really be able to tell when nature is fooling us

You beat me to the punch because I was going to say we have certain ideas of where and how life can start. However, we keep finding other places in other ways, even on our own planet, right, of, like, deep, deep sea creatures that exist that we wouldn't think be able to exist at those pressures or in toxic waters that we would think, you can know

But I was thinking about the myth of the 10% of the brain that we don't use or whatever. That myth is the one that literally so many people still spout as scientific fact even though it's been debunked long ago and was never even really an accepted scientific fact. And that's just like this aspect of reality that so many people just don't question, right? And that can be scary

Oh, I completely agree. From the excitement of what could be, what might be to the difficulty of holding those two conflicting ideas or the need for the structures and framings in order to make sense of the world, but at the same time holding them very loosely. I sometimes wonder, like, what would the ideal look like? The the melding of nuance and complexity while also understanding that we need those frameworks. Right?
