You’re the storyteller

But then as soon as I made the decision, made the career decision, of course, that age restriction that society attempts to impose, that narrative stepped in. And for a minute, it really did have me going in circles, thinking like, oh, goodness, am I, quote unquote, too old to pursue a career in law? Because that was always ultimately my goal

I always think about my friend who had a mom who became a lawyer at 73 and just lived out the rest of her life so happy, and the ability to just drop in right now where you are and say, this is the space I'm supposed to be in and have the joy in you to actually share it, because speaking this into the world is another step. It becomes real. We almost are holding you in this space to celebrate you and not holding you accountable necessarily

If we can walk around freely with all our senses, I've perfectly fine, working fine and we can enjoy, we can climb a mountain. I mean, what can be better than that? And what can be better than nothing? It was a pleasure

And I really do hope that more people chime in to discuss their space that they're in, because it would help, it would benefit us all to know that we're not alone. And it's really funny because I've looked for groups that support women who start their law careers later in life, and I am finding absolutely none. And it's mind boggling to me

And I'm just going to like, if we never, ever speak again, know that you got somebody out here that is celebrating every second of your journey with you, the hard ones, the difficult ones, and the ones that are full of joy and triumph. I am celebrating you and the fact that you know these things. And the last thing I want to say really quickly is maybe you should create a group that supports women that support women who start their careers later on in life

That way, I can be somewhere for however many years I choose to, and it will be doing something that I absolutely love to do. So again, I applaud your Pivot and your shift, and I also applaud your daughter for challenging you. I love when our kids can do that. I love when our kids can say, well, then if you're not happy, then guess what? Do something. And then we're like, Oh, okay, well, right
