53 Years of Marriage - Happy Anniversary to my Parents!

article image placeholderUploaded by @StephStylePlus
And one of the things that I honestly believe that my parents have exemplified and is a true foundation of their marriage is compromising. You know, I you know, I look at like myself, right? I've been married once and divorced. I've had a few decently linked relationships and those have failed as well. And I think the thing that I learned the most from my parents marriage was compromising. But unfortunately for me, I overcompromise, right?

There's things that we expect that are the highest level of connection and commitment and compromise and a system outside of the marriage that supports the marriage inside. I think that's what's really changed, for better or for worse. I don't know. I don't wax poetic on the good old days. I just think certain couples establish a connection between their most intimate connection and a culture outside them that supports that connection. And it's almost like a glue inside and out

You wishing your parents a very, very happy wedding anniversary. And let me tell you, this is so encouraging and brings out so much of love and best wishes for your parents to have held on to each other for so long. I mean, it's like they are an inspiration to all the people who have no tolerance for each other, for their situation, for their circumstances. I mean, it's so sad

And I tell you what, I totally respect people who can hang on to a marriage that long. When you get out of a marriage and you get into something else or marry somebody else or whatever, you really probably are not going to improve your situation. And nine times out of ten, you're probably going to get something worse or something equally as unpleasant. No marriage is no marriage is perfect
