Sorry it cut out. So anyways, it just really made me realize that, like, I've been trying to get my mom to accept me for who I am and accept my partner for who she is and all this, but, like, never have I ever just been, like, accepting of just my mom. Like, okay, we can agree to disagree. So I love that Leslie took the time to point that out in his conversation

And just listening to you, you inspired me by your story and by your understanding about the complexity of loving somebody who might not love you. And I certainly love my mother so much, and I came out, like, many, many years ago, but she was horrifying, and she was just the worst, and she completely approached it with fear. But over the years, I've seen her perspective. I see her size. She just is very fearful, and love is always the answer

And I'll give an example because I'm a survivor of domestic violence. And when it got to a point where I had to tell her because it was a thing of, I don't know, am I going to live? Is this person coming back to the home? I'm scared. And her response was from a space of I'm more concerned about the abuser than I am of my daughter. That's how it landed for me
