Working on fear of emotional intimacy

article image placeholderUploaded by @sebc23
I'm kind of coming to the realization that I have probably had a really hard time with that my whole life and that I don't exactly feel like I know how to fix it now. And I have been blessed to have a partner who is super wonderful and understanding and who I love very much. And part of the reason that I want to get better at this is so that we can keep having a healthy relationship. But it's really difficult. My family just didn't do that stuff

Maybe you are just where you are feeling into where you want to be and taking necessary moments to breathe deep and move an inch forward. But it can't be random. It's got to be with the person you're working with. And that person could even know that you're having issues with emotional intimacy. But you're not going to call it fear. You're going to call it, this is a journey for me. Thank you for being with me on it

Thank you so much for sharing this. I I relate to that about, like, your family not really being like that. Like, my parents were like I don't know, I've just always kind of been uncomfortable by or any type of intimacy or affection since I was a kid. I don't know. I've just always been like that, so I also need to work on that as well
