Access to contraception

I'm sure we're all aware of the recent events regarding Roe v. Wade in America, but I think this has sparked a lot of discussion about access to contraception and that possibly being taken away for women in the US. And I don't know, to me, that makes very little sense. So I guess I'm just sort of expressing my confusion. I feel like especially if you're pro life and you're against abortion, then contraception should be like a no brainer

What is the argument against contraception 🤔

And maybe if we don't give you birth control, you're going to somehow have more of a celibate life. But birth control, from their perspective, is controlling what's meant to be, this destiny that these sperm and the egg are meant to meet, and we should not get in the way, which is also confusing because that means that do they want it to be inside the sanctity of marriage? I don't know

But, yeah, I think at the end of the day, it really is just preventing women from being able to have control over their bodies. And it's always been that. Yeah, it's super confusing, for sure. And, yeah, I guess it's all the more reason to spread the truth about what the contraception does and separate all these ideologies from the actual science of it

I think this is a great question, and I'm so glad you asked it, because I feel like this is this is exactly what we should be asking, if only for it to poke holes in their argument or just to realize how flimsy the arguments become, because it seems less and less it's not really about this goal of protecting life, because if you're so pro life, where's the advocacy for suicide prevention or protecting the lives of houseless people? I don't know

Also. I just thinking about about this. I watched a video yesterday from Channel Five with Andrew Callahan. They went to the prochoice rally and, like, interviewed some people there. We're protesting and counter protesting, so I thought that was pretty cool. I'll link it here if you want to check it out

So it should be an absolute no brainer. I used to be a sex educator in high school in London and I used to speak to young people and teach them about condoms, using condoms in our PSHE, personal and health education lessons. And we also used to have a youth worker who are coming to the school because I as a teacher was not allowed to give contraception, but they could go to the youth worker who works for the local government, who would come in at lunchtimes
