Is Kindness a Currency?

article image placeholderUploaded by @PKBriggs
We want it. It's in demand. So is it a currency? I don't know. Does this make sense to you? Is this crazy? And then if it is, what does that mean? Doesn't mean anything. Maybe it means nothing. I don't know. I was just curious because I was listening to this conversation, really listening to this conversation here as well

#kindness #value #merit #worth

I'm not exactly up to verse on my Bible versus, but I wanted to kind of share that because I think that when I do good for others, it's looked at in a different way than just giving a monetary or a piece of material versus actually doing some good. And I think that it is looked at now because time is really something that people don't have a lot of

Well, this is interesting because I've had a really kind of polarized experience of the word gotta make or in the west, it's called Karma, but in Sanskrit, Garama. And it's funny, I've had experiences where people get really offended when you talk to them about Karma and you're like, oh, maybe that's got him. And people get offended in the west, but Gotama is like cause and effect

Karma = responsibility @MysticScientist

Good evening, Mystic Scientist. Thank you so much for responding to this. Swell. I really liked your share and particularly the part about Karma and people reacting negatively to it. And and I can see that because as you said, that what instantly came to my mind is Karma means responsibility, right. If it is the reaction or direct cause of your actions. People don't want to be responsible. They want to sometimes want to feel like things are just happening to them

And I think for me, I have actually practiced a lot in my life to make sure when I'm doing something for people, I try to make sure I'm sure I don't do it 100% of the time that I'm just doing it. And I try not to have any expectations because at the end of the day, what I have learned in life rather painfully and aware and created this awareness of myself is we're just all very, very different. We all move differently

But I think that could be an interesting way to think about it, because I feel like the PG people are more, like, willing to give kindness. They see it more as a tool, like something that can help them. I just want to say that I thought it was really interesting. I don't know the answer, but I really like your thought process

@livblair thank you!

Hey, Liv. Blair, I thank you so much for responding to this well and listening and just vibing with it. Yeah. As I was saying. And you know, when you're speaking, sometimes you're working it out in your mind. But I'm like like that. I don't know. It seems like it is or it could be

I ran out of time here! VERY fascinating.

Hey, PK, this is definitely a fascinating thing to think about, especially from a philosophical ethical perspective. First, I was thinking, well, yeah, kindness should be counted as a currency. But I think what I meant by that, as I continue to think about it, if that kindness should get the same respect and value in society as money does. And, of course, it's a shame that kindness is not worshiped the way we worship money in this capitalistic society
