Hair Math

article image placeholderUploaded by @PhillyJen
Because I can't go to bed with wet curls and that leads to another aspect of hair math time in the day. There's a point where it gets too late to deal with it, get it dry enough to put in my protective style and go to sleep. Add in weather. Thankfully it doesn't rain too much in LA because that is yet another factor in the calculation and days I want to go for a run on off gym days, and the complexity just further increases

Wow. I have curly hair, and now you're making me feel totally guilty about not paying attention to it enough. It probably can look ten times better than it does. I just sent this out to a few curly haired people because this was kind of an epic homage. Truly. Thank you

But yeah, it is trigonometry algebra. Straight girls, straight hair girls are dealing with the algebra of hair. I think. I think curly girls, I do think it's an advanced trigonometry. It's like grad school kind of. I think I could teach a course. I think I could have professorial tendencies around hair education. And people stop me on the street all the time about my hair and they ask what I use

It's wow, what a great, swell post. I am a curly haired girl over here and hair math, while a very niche topic, happens to take up a lot of space in my head. And I think it's so brilliant that you posted something about this because I would never have even thought to share it. It's just not even something that I thought was a thing to share, but it's very much an important part of my week

Meredith. I love the idea of the curly girls getting together and sharing their hair math stories. Like you said, there's plenty to say. There are so many things that go into it, and whether we realize it or not, we do use a lot of our time thinking about it, so let's make that happen

You know, I. I didn't realize that so much thought went into hair and hair maintenance and hair care and hair care products and all of that stuff. I'd never heard the term hair math before, so I can't relate. But I'll just add that to the list of shit women have to deal with that I don't have to deal with. I do have to do hair math, actually. The hair math is done for me, and it's mostly subtraction

Gary, thanks so much for taking the time to listen to and comment on something that's outside your wheelhouse. I'm sorry to hear about your subtraction issue, but revel in the fact that you can take a shower and get out the door within minutes. It's a blessing

But when I frizz up my hair with this hair and beard pudding, it kind of just stays put in the right way and then I don't have to worry about it. But then I have hair and beard pudding on my hand. I need to wash my hands. I can't get it on my clothes because it's neon yellow
