article image placeholderUploaded by @NLOFrank
Hey, lovelies, I hope you all having a good day so far. Today. I wanted to talk to you about asking people pronouns in the workplace, or you can use the same techniques in other places. I do a lot of work work with people in the workplace around being more inclusive to clients and colleagues in regards to pronouns. And one of the questions I get asked a lot is okay, Tasha. So how do I know by looking at somebody what their pronouns are?

Thank you!! @NLOFrank

So just for clarification, if anybody out there was given instructions that way, it's just what's your pronouns or I like what Tasha said to not even ask, but you just leave with your information. And then that feels like peaceful, because even me person that may identify in the community, I still feel uncomfortable in certain environments

Hey Pika, thank you so much for raising that I was trying to not drag on for five minutes like easily do on my slow cast. But that is a really great point in regards to asking for people for preferred pronouns and touching on the fact that actually its agenda is not a choice for most people. It's not a choice. So dropping the preferred and just asking for pronouns is the way to go. So thank you so much. I completely didn't miss out

Thank you! You are doing a great service to the community. @NLOFrank

But as I got to do a lot of work with people that were ten or 15 years younger than me, I guess you would say millennials. They embraced the word queer. And then I got to having to get into conversations and stuff like that and do my own research and different work that I do like. I look at it as an umbrella term, even though historically it has all these sort of negative experiences tied to it for people who are, like, 50 60. So I get it

And I think that's why other people have started to adopt that term. But again, as you said, the term hasn't always been used in the way that it's starting to be used now. So I always same as what you've described

🤦🏾‍♀️ people who want to shorten/change your name 👎🏾 @NLOFrank

Hey, no worries at all. You are out there producing content like daily, so I know that no one can see all these replies, and then sometimes you just need a minute to sit down and do it. So I never I'm not that sensitive in that type of way, so I appreciate any response. That is the Nat and Tasha, Tasha thing made me laugh because I don't know why people always want to give you a nickname

Yes, where did all the social media go? @realbriggster

So I'm hoping she's got the memo as well and realized that the social media is down, but yeah, after trying everything, I thought I will have just a quick Google and see if Facebook's down and apparently everything is down. Facebook wise. So interesting with the name right. I totally hear you. To be honest, sometimes it's like a bit of laziness. I've got a friend who is Arabic who does listen to if she's listening
