Writers Strike!

Well, the Writers Guild has voted to go on strike. So at midnight, it's pencils down, as they say, and it looks like they'll be manning the picket lines tomorrow. So I'll go over there and take some pictures and talk to some people. I've covered a couple of these strikes in the past, and one thing I have to say about the writers is they always have really clever signs and good things to say. So stay tuned

I mean, there's been coverage about these people who've written hit shows who are driving Uber at night, and they get the executives in the car and they hear these conversations and they don't know, my God, I wrote that show. Crazy stories. So I'm so appreciative of your coverage here, and I'd love for us to gain a better understanding of what's ahead, and we're just here to support what's going on

So the writers got out there yesterday at about 01:00 p.m.. And all the press went out and took pictures of all their signs. And it just did day one. And this morning, I saw a group of writers at my coffee shop all getting ready, young people of color who had the support of everybody in the coffee shop and then got free coffee

I hope that young Sheldon and Abbott elementary don't wind up getting canceled because those are two shows that I really, really like. And I recognize again that TV shows get canceled like this because writers go on strike. And it's not the writer's fault, it's the studio's fault. Because what they'll do is they'll whittle down the shows to the shows that they think are going to be most profitable for them so that they can make up for lost time

So I like that you're bringing the details of these strikes. Because my mom actually came in today and she's like, niece. So about the writer strike, because she's like, somebody she's supportive of me being an English major and probably me getting an MF A and PhD. And someday she's like, I think you should just go to law school. I'm really grateful that you're going out there and giving us the details because I'm quite interested to see

Sometimes it knocks me off my feet with the money and when there's enough and I'm a union guy and I've been most of my adult life. So when the movie ends, I read the credits all the way down to the carpenters and I don't even know what a grip is. But I mean, but the positions and I think a couple of them actually thank that union that was, I guess constructing. And I tell you how it goes with us. Well, we are union
