Anchors in your mindfulness practice

That conversation or that task or the thing that you're doing with gentleness and be able to focus with integrity and peace and be able to let the distractions just pass you by. So I bring all this up because somebody was asking me about trying to find the right kind of anchor. It's a great question, but there is no right or wrong anchor. You find the thing that works the best for you. In my practice, I use breath quite a bit because breathing is always with you

Yeah. Honestly, this is so I wish I'd heard this when I was younger and getting into mindfulness and meditation and even yoga, I felt so thrown off by the instructions to either breathe or focus on some sort of image or whatever because I felt my body wanting to do something else us. And so getting older and realizing that my anchor was my own to choose was so liberating. So thank you so much for your message and also for all the different ideas of anchors that we could use

That's what it's designed to do. And we are just gently leading it back to this thing we want to focus on, to help train it, to help guide it towards using its energy for purposes that we choose. And that training, like any other muscle, just takes some time and patience and we'll find that it's able to do it longer and longer as we grow in our practice. Thanks so much for sharing
