Check in on our senior aged friends and grandparents

Sometimes in the wintertime, for example, their pipes freeze, they need running water, their electric may have went out. A lot of people need that for oxygen tanks, sleep apnea machines, little stuff like that that we probably don't think about unless we actually work in the industry. So check on your grandparents, your great grandparents, your seniors that live down the road or on your court. Let them know you're there

And also just keeping it fun and light and not make them feel like they're some kind of victim of a system. That's not fair. It's more like we're in this together, and we are, because, god willing, I'll be old one day, and I want someone intuitive like you are to be in my life. I did want to ask you, from where you sit, how are you beloved older people in your life? Are their parents? Are they grandparents?

But he is really important, I think, at this time, like you were saying, when it's the winter and people are not going to visit as often and they're not getting out, and it's getting darker earlier. And if you are lonely, that can mean depression and especially around the holidays if they are someone who's dealing with a spouse that's no longer there. That's the case with my maternal grandfather

Little exit ramp for those memory receptors that a lot of times it just takes your voice and other people just to speak back into them, to remind them sometimes just what they've done and who they are and that they have a lot of life left to live. So, yeah, thanks for sharing your time. I appreciate every second you give. And have a great holiday. Safe travels. And I've got miles to go. Bye, now

@DBPardes

I was always kind of around as a helper to help them pick their feet up or transfer in and out of a bed or get them in and out of a car. And I think that just kind of led me down the road of becoming a caregiver and studying physical therapy. I've always kind of just appreciated, I guess, that beautiful piece of life. Like you said, one thing I've learned is eventually it's going to be me

Hey, Miles, this is JL. Thank you so much for this soulful reminder of the power of human connection and just being mindful of people who are trying to shield what they believe is a burden. I can't talk, my mouth is really juicy. A burden to others, when really it's a simple hello. A smile. How are you? I'm thinking of you are I just wanted to say hi. I just wanted to say hi
