How bad does it need to get to find motivation?

article image placeholderUploaded by @Markrfitness
And how easy is it for you to not just go with the emotion over the goal, like short term pleasure over a long term gain? Just interested in what you guys think. And I remember doing a weight loss challenge on here with some of you guys on twelve and some of you'd like to lose a certain amount of weight. You tried, but also you liked the stuff like ice cream and other things. So you know, how bad does it have to get?

At times I find it easy to get and stay on track, how about yourself?

Motivation comes from within. But you need to look up to athletes better than yourself

But part of the reason why I even started doing this in the first place was I think in life you have to have somebody you're looking up to. For instance, you were mentioning this boxer that you really like and her routines or whatever she's doing to stay in shape. I personally have strayed more. I guess my whole journey started with Rich Roll. I read his book and I listened to his podcast

Hi Jr. Thanks for your reply, man. That sounds super interesting. You doing a lot of this hiking and long distance stuff. This sounds great. And yeah, I've read goggins books. Got into Goggins a little while back. Yeah, fantastic guy. Amazing. I was wondering, though, just talking about your training, I was just wondering about conditioning. I'm a professional boxing coach, and therefore I became a conditioning coach

@Markrfitness heartrate

But a lot of these ultra athletes, the reason why they're able to do what they're able to do is because they condition train, and their heart rate is at idle. These guys train to run, and they're at idle, so to speak, compared to the average person. I'm not necessarily at idle. I have biked a little bit. Like, I have a mountain bike, and I do bike a little bit, although it's kind of broken right now

And since I learned about conditioning, the difference between what I knew just as a personal trainer and then when I got my license and started working with my professional fighter and then became a conditioning coach, the difference was huge. And you don't have to be a professional fighter to get the benefits of conditioning. So you can do general population conditioning. And I do this with all my clients through an app online and everything

And so the thing is, you never really overtrain. And there is such a thing as recovery sessions, which again is like it pushes your body into recovery. Not actually recovery conditioning that I was just talking about, but it's a way of training where you can just put a session together, where you after your development session, you hit a recovery session, which then enables your body to do the stimulation, getting ready for your development again. So it's really interesting

Saturday I broke my strava record 😁

And I know people run marathons all the time, so it's not that big of a deal, but I didn't really train for it. I did a few hikes and runs earlier in the week, but nothing of extreme length. I think I did like an eight and a half mile, like four or five days before, and then like shorter, like four mile, but never last year would I have gotten out of doing what I did on Saturday and be able to walk the next day
