Don’t Make The Scale Your Enemy!

And one tool that people often use is to scale. The problem is that many people get on the scale, and if they don't like what it says, then it can take them down sometimes and actually be more of a negative than a positive. What you need to understand is, one, it's just a tool and it's just one bit of information. We don't actually have a set weight. We have more of a weight range

It’s important to track progress but a lot of people misuse the scale and make it a negative. Here’s my advice on proper tracking for fitness success

And focusing on things that made my body feel good and feel healthy and feel activated and well fed and well treated kind of was the answer for me to go a more intuitive way. And then when I went to the doctors, I would hop on the scale and see if that was how everything was looking. But I realized that mentally, it wasn't doing me any favors to use the scale

The only thing I would caution for some people is if we don't have some kind of awareness what's going on with our body, then it can tend to get away from us. So, for example, we can feel like, oh, we've gained a few pounds and maybe we think it's five when it's ten, or we think it's ten when it's 15

Kevin, really enjoying the conversation here. I myself went on a detoxification this January, lost a lot of weight initially, and then have just kind of stagnated since then. And that's not uncommon for me when I decide, hey, I've got to lose some pounds here

So there's definitely a lot more to fitness than appearance. But using some kind of tracking tools and understanding that they all have limitations can help us keep going and be successful
