So I'm going to share a poem about that with you by Louise Gluck. The poem I shared last time was about one kind of teacher, the kind who drifts across campus in a cloud of dream. You could almost say this poem is actually quite a bit darker than that poem, and I've loved it for many, many years. I'm going to say maybe 40 years. I've loved this poem partly because of its darkness

There's so much here that is different in the context of the life we live now. I'd love your thoughts on this. Do you kind of vibe where I'm at right now because of where we are in school shootings today

And I talk about how carrying that poem inside me, I have been able to watch the poem and my relationship change over time as I have gone back and recuperated it out of my memory. And the Gluck poem is one that I don't have by heart and that I'm aware of, but that I don't go back and revisit in odd moments the way that I do the Yates poem
