Who are you keeping alive?

I read all of these poets because others have read and loved them, and by doing that, they've kept them alive. Which poets are you keeping alive in yourself?

Ah, Catherine, I love having a day that's broken into parts. And one part is to listen to your swells and what a beautiful, deep question. And I have a double meaning answer for you. Sometimes poems are given to you as a gift and that poem is keeping that relationship alive and then the poem itself is kept alive. It's no small gift that you gave me ghost Apples, your collection of poems which I really want to just sit in a beautiful field and just read

@katharine.coles - it's Alfred Lord Tennyson

It's. So I knew I had to respond to this well as soon as I heard it because I think it's a very beautiful and scary perspective that you're putting out here. Immortality for a poet. Coles with fame and with others, remembering the poet. Right. And when you asked, which poets are you keeping life?

#reply Dr. Maya Angelou

I often go back and watch her interviews and her videos, but I guess in a sense, I am keeping it alive. But that's okay. I think that's okay. But it's also interesting that most of the good poets that we know about are dead. I don't know what that's about, but that's interesting. It's it

And now when I remember that poem and when I think about Angelou, like you, I am keeping her alive because of her words. She's inside of us. I actually think that's a good thing. I don't think it's good that she is dead or that any of us or that all of us will die. But I think it's a really wonderful thing that we do have a way to keep some people alive through their words. Thank you for your comment

I think that we're revisiting the Victorian poets. The novelists have sort of stayed strong in our minds, but the poets have faded, and I think that we're coming back to them, which is a wonderful thing. I'm a lover of Tennyson myself. If you want to get started on learning more about him and seeing more of his work, I recommend that you just hop onto Poetryfoundation.org and then search for Tennyson
