Another school poem

article image placeholderUploaded by @katharine.coles
I keep thinking I'm going to be finished with back to school poems, and then every time I turn around, there seems to be another poem in front of me about school or education, teaching or learning. I've thought a lot about what Deborah said about Louise Gluck's schoolchildren and how Gluck seems to have predicted 40 some years ago the kinds of dangers that children and their teachers would be facing in the classroom today

And I just think he's offering up so much for us to just swallow and ingest, digest, process, own, be accountable to the one line that bumped. Did he say that the punching bag reminds him of sex? Did I hear that right? I want to know more about that. I want a poem about that. Why does a punching bag remind him of sex? Maybe I heard it wrong. Anyway, thank you, of course, for starting my week as you do
