Your Favourite Compilation Albums? From K-tel to Late Night Tales

article image placeholderLate Night Tales: The Collection
They used to be like a time capsule chronicling the best hits of the time. Ktl had quite a monopoly. If anyone remembers that name for me in the 90s, I remember Dance Mix prominently Dance Mix 93 that was put out by Much Music, which is a Canadian version of MTV on. It was a version of KLS 03:00, A.m. Eternal, which I wore the tape out listening to. Canada also had a compilation in the late 90s, early Odds called Big Shiny Tunes that was hugely successful

Dr. Demento!

Thanks so much for your reply, Tim, and all those compilations you ran through. It made me realize that it's so nice to have variety and just have this world open up to us. And it's kind of like a playlist in a way way, but it's really something that you listen to over and over and you bring all over the place. And it wasn't something you designed for your own mood. It would be sort of you would have to work through it
