This is Jim Hurlahi in San Francisco. I just wanted to update you on a terrific conversation I had this afternoon with Emeritus Professor Laurie Dengler of Cal Poly, Humboldt. I was interviewing her about the 6.4 magnitude earthquake up in Ferndale this past Tuesday. You may recall Tuesday, December 20, at 02:34, a.m. A 6.4 magnitude earthquake struck Ferndale in the Northern California region of Humboldt County. Ferndale is about 260 miles north of San Francisco. The My Shake Earthquake Alert app alerted us on our smartphones

One thing that I wanted to mention to you about current and relevant and sort of timely posts like this is when I have moments like this that I'm observing, I tend to try to call somebody and get them here on Swell as well because it's so immediate and they could reply within minutes of the event. When the Lawrence Livermore National Lab came out with the news about the fusion event last week, I immediately reported on it
