A Special Moment

She drove down from Wisconsin and early part of April and got down here, and I said, okay, I know exactly what we're doing the next day. And what I did was I took her to historic Ebenezer Baptist Church in the Sweet Arbon neighborhood of Atlanta. And this is the church that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. And his father, they were co passors, or at least Dr. King was a coaster daddy King was the main pastor there for a long time as well

Here’s a way I brought a slice of history to my mother. #BlackHistoryMonth #Atlanta

Jesse, that photo you're right. There's something incredible about your mom's face. And the day that you were there is the day he was assassinated. And in terms of the anniversary, wow, you're right. It just captures that moment of reverence and of sometimes history feels so far away, and then other times, it just feels like it's living and breathing right here

Hey. These are powerful, powerful stories. And I love how you weave in your love for history with your love for your mother in this story. And you do so in a way that's seamless and not exaggerated meaning. There's not a lot of prefacing and preemptive. Oh, my gosh, it's going to happen
