#tellmystory someone I met who I never saw again: Myself

I ended up moving away from North Carolina, back with my family, because I learned one thing, even though I did learn that I needed to find my place within myself to be home. One of the things I learned about being away from my family is that how important family is. Especially when my dad got cancer and then my sister got cancer within the same year, and they both ended up passing away in the same year. It was devastating

We visit, we see, we're exposed to that get us through a moment, and then that part of us is sort of a fleeting aspect that we might not need again or engage with again. But it's so formative. I guess one of the things I can compare it to is they say that if you're a parent and you see a kid trapped under a car, sometimes this incredible strength comes and you can lift that car to get your kid out
