As I slowly come out of the fog of deep grief and my eyes have adjusted to muted colors, I recall my son's voice a few years prior on a facetime walk through my neighborhood with him that took us here to these very rocks I stand on, warmed by the sun that was now setting. We stopped there, looking at the sunset

Hm. I want to thank you for finding the strength and the generosity to share your loss with us and your ability to get through the days with this new friend. That is grief. We have to befriend our grief because it becomes is something we live with. And it would be better to live with a friend than a foe, I guess. But I'm just so sorry for your loss and what a lucky grandchild you have to have
