May Day In My Backyard (A Garden Diary)
You. Hey, there it is. May 1, and I thought I would just share a few photos from my backyard. I have a small herbal garden and some other stuff growing that I just kind of wanted to share. The first photo is of the sky. Currently. It was actually pretty sunny these last couple of days. And then today it's cloudy and cool and windy and not good for allergies if I'm out there too long. But, yeah, it's actually beautiful
So I remember coming across some chamomile plants at a nursery, and I bought those and it did not work out. I think they dried up from the heat and they just didn't make it. But the following year, they grew back on their own and they increased. Like, it just doubled. And every year it just keeps getting bigger and bigger. So now it's almost like one whole flower bed, or at least half of a flower bed
But I'm sure it would be great if you made some, like, homemade pasta sauce or something. Marinara that sounds really good, but I don't know what else can you use? Oregano and I'm sure there's a bunch of things, but I would love to hear of any ways you can utilize it in recipes or if you have, like, an herbal remedy, I would love to know about it

I hang them upside down, bundled together, and then I use the lavender buds in my dream pillows or little herbal sachets that I make. So, yeah, I love this one. This is a great one
And also, I've heard that it helps in creativity, in meditation, possibly. So it has a very herbaceous scent. I actually like it. Not a lot of people like it, but I love it. And it's actually good if you create an oil from it. It's supposed to help with womb care for women's menstrual cycles. Yeah. So I have a lot to explore with this one, and I can't wait to experiment with it this year
And also, I planted it because for my name's sake, because the botanical name is Melissa officials, and my name is Melissa. So I just thought, I need to have that in my garden. Right
And so far, they're doing pretty good. We've had grapes the first couple of years, and then one year they didn't do too well. And I think it we just didn't water it or care for it enough. But this year we're on it, so we'll see what happens

Wow. This is so beautiful. Thank you so much for taking the time. What a journey. It's awesome. And you used it like Instagram, which I love when the photos have voices. I have a question about I have a big garden in Los Angeles, and I grow a lot of happy plants right now. It's been amazing season. Of course, because of the rain
But I also tried basil one summer, and that was just glorious. I love the scent that that gave. And also I I think there's one called pineapple sage. I think they have, like, little red flowers, but that one smells really good. And then the other ones, like, of course, like, rosemary, and the lemon balm is good, but those plants are kind of like you have to give them a nice pet to kind of release the fragrance
