You Want REAL Root-Cause Medicine?

And so the truth of the matter is, is that we need to be looking into these systemic injustices and these systems that continue to promote disease and ill health within the population, as I said, especially marginalized communities. So, yes, meta medicine and yes, holistic medicine is inherently political. Happy M************ Tuesday, y'all

And I do think that some of the practices, especially meditation and deeper rooted work like acupuncture where people are really looking at flow of energy in their bodies and unsticking things that maybe generationally have been stuck, all these things can help somebody protect themselves from the external anger that kind of gets thrown towards them. The external systems that feel toxic. So there's really nothing an individual can do in their lifetime, usually to change huge systems

In many ways, these ways of thinking come from these ancient medical practices, whether it's Ayurveda or traditional Chinese medicine or Native American healing practices, any indigenous practices really just have this much more expansive view, I find. Expansive view on reality in general, I would say. So I suppose that's more food for thought for all of us. And just how can we, even if in our lifetime, as you said, rarely change a huge system?

I think it's the ability to position yourself as somebody who prioritizes certain things, to stay strong, improve yourself, your mind, your body, and then to go out and impact one 2710 people in whatever systems you're taking part in, a school system, a job, a church, whatever. And that's the biggest, most possible way we can change the world. The trickle down doesn't really work as we know

Deborah, I hope you're having a fabulous Saturday. Yes, I absolutely love what you said about when we care for ourselves. That vibrationally, it changes things for the better around us. And for me, as a longtime yoga practitioner, I think that's really the essence of yoga, to be honest, is going within ourselves to heal that which needs to be healed, so that that we can then go out and be of service in the world to the degree that we can
