Then And Now

article image placeholderUploaded by @FryedOreo
And then some people, you can notice, have had some cosmetic work to where they look odd now than they did when they were younger. Demi Moore, for example, she had some recent work done with her chin or not chin, I'm sorry, but her cheeks and it looks weird compared to how she looked when she was younger. But yeah, what is the fascination with us in aging, especially here in America? We tend to kind of look down upon folks who get old. Right

Why are we so enamored with celebrities aging process?

I have zero comments to add to this, except that I found your one statement uproariously funny. Fart dust. I think I'm going to have to hang on to that one. That is too funny. Thank you very, very much

Yes. Fart dust. That's a very interesting sight. I think I've seen that in some comedic films. I can't say for certain which one, but I'm glad I made you smile while and laugh today

Cher is off the table for discussion 😂

If you believe in life after love after love after love I can feel something inside me say I really don't think I'm strong enough oh, let me tell you I love me some cher. Cher is my girl. Listen, there are a few people I would want to sit down and just have tea with. Just have tea with, get my grown woman on and have tea. Cher is one of them. Patty labelle is one of them. What's my other girl's name?

Your mind is very interesting. But again, do you partake in the then and now warm hole on Internet? And if so, what is your fascination with celebrities aging?

Then I want to have tea with this woman and that woman. Anyway, to answer your question, specifically, I am trying to think if I have a fascination with celebrities aging. And I don't know if I have a fascination, I guess you can call it that fort, ease and sake of time because my brain is tired

That wasn't really a phenomena. You would think these athletes worked out all the time, but they don't. They didn't. Sorry, they smoked and drank beer on the sidelines. It was a different era. So in turn they looked a different way. So that all is very fascinating to me. But JL, you are a gym to the swell atmosphere and you keep doing your things. Hang girl. Keep doing yellow thing. Thanks for responding. Bye

After love after love after love after love I can feel something inside me say I really don't think strong enough. Is that the word? Terrible, apparently. Share still looks awesome, right? I love that. I think for her, whatever she's done to maintain that age group that she's in. I sound like her picture when she was 21, I think. Probably looks exactly the same, but yeah. Just fascinated by the topic

Great topic, Dewuan. And the image is so striking. Photoshop is great. Shows, plastic surgery all these things create the myth of a human imprint and on digital. But the bigger question is what cultures respect the wisdom face and what culture don't? And I think we're horrible at celebrating the wisdom and beauty that comes with age. We are kind of beholden to having conversations that we don't even want to have sometimes

And there are times where the male actor, right, he'll be cast with a love interest, sometimes 20 years his age in real life, just because a friend of mine was telling me that one of her friends in Hollywood had been cast to be the love interest to, like, a 50 year old guy, and she was in her 20s. This is supposed to somehow be represented as realistic

Hate your comment about the younger woman older man thing. You have to watch this movie. A flip of the story, but just so empowering and so beautiful and getting the name of it. It's called good luck. Leo grand. And here it is

Thank you for the recommendation. I will be checking this out this weekend. Big fan of Emma Thompson. And dare I say, I have a crush on her. But this seems like a good story and for anything that she's a part of. So thank you for this

I do find it interesting, I guess most people do when you're used to seeing them look older, but when you find, when you look back on like an old photo or you see an old video of them, it's like, oh, wow, look how young they used to be. But yeah, it is weird. And yeah, morgan Freeman it's funny, morgan Freeman has always been old

I think, philosophically or psychologically speaking, that our obsession with watching these celebrities try to stay looking young comes from just societal need to think that we're going to live forever. You believe in love after love, the love after love. How many times does she say it in the song? Right? So she must have the fountain of youth at her doctor's office, right? I think that's one part of it for sure. We don't want to die

And it's interesting in a sense where with us looking to these celebrities, right, these celebrities who are probably the personification of popularity in its purest well, in its most rawest form, it kind of makes sense now that we had a medium of television and media to view these celebrities for quite some time. It's been several generations adapted to where it's not freakish occurrence to see someone on screen. You tend to feel you get to know these people, right

Jazzy. Thank you, as always, for taking the time not only to listen to this well, but to also offer an audio response. And I can remember that if I could turn Back Time music video, how it was controversial that she was practically wearing nothing, but isn't it a laughing joke now, as that is considered the average of the day? But she definitely is a fashion pioneer and she stands the test of time within what we view age as

Because every single person on this earth is going to experience a disability at some point in their life, right? Like when you get old or she gets old or he gets old, they get old. They're going to get arthritis like I have now. And then they're going to realize all that trying to stay, look pretty, like it doesn't matter, reach out and help people. That's what matters. That's what feels beautiful. That's not a picture

And, yeah, that's just you hope and aspire to live long and nowadays, as well as very invoked to take care of yourself, to go to the gym, eat healthy and all that sort of stuff. But even in that same vein, some of it is the unrealistic expectations of us wanting to be a share or wanting to be this or that celebrity who seems like they don't age. They are indeed aging just like the rest of us
