Were you a Freak, Geek, or Jock in Highschool?

article image placeholderUploaded by @Wuandurful
But when I got to that level, it was like, wow. I was seeing dudes doing Windmill 360 dunks that were my age and my height and I couldn't dunk yet. So I didn't have the Kobe Black Mamba gene where I wanted to go harder in the gym. I was into women at this time into girls. So I was skipping practice, not varsity, but the PJ. I forget what you call it the one underneath other varsity

This post was obviously inspired by Freaks And Geeks. #highschool #geeks #freaks #jocks

The old Superman kneel before Zod. When it comes to freaks and geeks and stranger things, I kneel before Zod because it doesn't get better than that. This s*** is that on point. All right. So there's that we're putting that aside now, now we're going to get to your question, was I a freak or was I a geek or what the h*** up? I was all of the above. The thing was I was in the art

Happy to let my freak flag fly

It's just so funny and it's just everything I don't really have words for other than it's just incredible. As far as the freaks, geeks or Jack question. Oh my God, definitely Jack. When I was younger, I played every single sport. I was really good at sports. I loved them. I still love playing sports

Hybrids Of Culture! @AverageJoe

I just didn't enjoy the high school experience. I think my fun times were in middle school, to be honest with you, although I did go to prom. I went to two Proms, actually, my girlfriend at the time she went to a different school. So I went to her prom as well as mine. It was weird, though, because I had to kind of negotiate with her to go to her prom because she said she promised somebody else

Don’t you dare ever take that freak flag down! @bowie

I didn't have truancy issues or anything like that, but it just was not interesting to me at all. It was more interesting than the movies. I think the movies kind of let me down. It's like, oh, man, there's not this. There's not that or whatever, but yeah, what sports did I play? I was mainly a basketball guy. I flirted with football, but at the time I was too big to run the ball

firmly in the Geek camp!

I'd have lunch with them every day, and I'd watch other people play chess. Number two, I wrote science fiction for the high school literary magazine. They were looking for short stories, and I would write, like, 30 page serial adventures, which made no sense. They were just science fiction parodies, like The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. And I convinced all my friends to do that, too. And they ended up having to turn

You’re a dead-ringer for Alan Ruck! 😆😆 @Tim

I don't think that could exist now on TV, because at some point in time, there would have to be a multitude of love triangles. Somehow the army would have to be involved other FBI or aliens. That's usually how these teen dramas go these days, especially on CW. But anyway, hold on real quick. I got to tell you somebody who you remind me of. At least physically, you resemble this guy

And there were episodes that just never would re air. So it was a very difficult show to actually follow. And like you Dewuan, I'm glad it only lasted one season. I don't know where they would have gone from there, but to Joe's point, the show really did bring back those emotions and feelings you had as an awkward kid or the awkward moments of the teenage years. There's just so many moments where you just start cringing and you just know what's coming

Geeks In Jock-Clothing. @Phil

I had moments like that as a kid, but that was when I was younger, really younger. And it was just fun playing. So it was always fun to me, and I was competitive, but it was just more fun. And I think once it got extremely too competitive for me, I just wasn't interested. I couldn't relate to those high competitive types of people. So yeah, that's when I pretty much fizzled out as far as athletic swings
