Minnesota Is Burning

article image placeholderFoggy Justice
They used to have so many different stores in Brooklyn Park, whereas now and they had a mall in Brooklyn Center that now is converted to Walmart. But anyway, there's so much thriving business there, whereas in the last 20 years it's become a dumpster fire of a place to live there's always shootings involved gangland shootings. And whatnot so this could result from Brooklyn Center. It's just like a cherry on top of the chaos, misery and suffering that people are having over there

Poverty reacts to its social status eventually. #minnesota #shootings

Can't believe it

You know, Dewuan, I must have been out of it last night. I really didn't see anything. Wasn't aware that this was going on until I saw your swell here this morning. And I at first just. I was like, oh, maybe this is old. This is old. Just resurfaced. And then I just was kind of hoping that that was the case. And when I realized it wasn't, I don't know. I've been kind of staring at this

@Wuandurful Is a curfew the right thing to do?

But it is taking away some freedom, some rights. And I don't know, maybe I'm thinking just way too deep into this, way too much into it. But, man, this just feels like the wrong thing to do. And maybe that's just a gut reaction here, but it just doesn't feel right to me. But like I said, maybe I'm wrong. Maybe I'm just completely overreacting, but I just see a lot of frustration. It seems like almost antagonistic

Abuse of power comes as no surprise - Jenny Holzer

That's the biggest feeling I was left with in hearing your response is that so much about this has to do with power and it's infuriating. And I personally understand why it would feel like the right thing to do to be destructive. Potentially, it's a way to feel more powerful, in my opinion, when we keep seeing these white officers abusing their power over and over and over again

And that is none other than the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. By quoting some of his thoughts in terms of what riots and protests are and what Dr. King said was a riot is the language of the unheard. And I can only imagine that the folks in that area where George Floyd was killed and now where Dante Wright was killed, as well as File Castillo a couple of years ago, I'm sure they're feeling unheard

@AllenMarquis

Alan, I just want to thank you for your swell and for connecting it to the brilliant and timeless words of Martin Luther King. Just wanted to thank you for that. And it helps to listen and be reminded of what might be in store for us in the future, from looking at our past and shame on us for not learning. Bye
