Fake Airline Engine Parts

So the FAA issued a notification over fake engine parts recently in the news. Now, most of the airlines, including American airlines, joined other carriers in removing the parts from service due to false safety documents for the parts fitted to the engines. Now, the engines that had the unapproved parts were the CFM 56, which is one of the best selling aircraft engines in modern jet aviation history. Hey, Eric, thanks so much for this. Okay, so now I understand what they are, the Bushings. But are they inferior? And is that what the issue is? Because we know third party creates stuff that is inferior. So are you implying that they're trying to reverse the supply chain and make sure people don't use these parts because they are inferior? Or are they accepting them? Because I didn't read the whole article

Hey, Deborah. Great question. So, to answer your question, it's not about reversing anything. It has more to do with falsifying documents. And I'm going to do a new post on that. It'll be a part two to this. And I'm also waiting to hear back from my friend who is an airline pilot with JetBlue. I haven't heard back from him yet, so I'm looking into that
