I remember there's a story behind this kind of a recipe, and that is one winter when I was growing up, it was really cold out, wet, snow outside. I was playing outside in the snow with my friends, sledding down the hill, doing what kids do in the snow. And I was cold and I was hungry. And I came home and we had a fire going in the fireplace, and the whole house smelled like cinnamon and apples. And it was just amazing

Like I was just like, almost smelling exactly what you were describing. And it's interesting because I've just been texting a friend about Thanksgiving and thinking about things to do to warm up the day. And I'm definitely going to follow this recipe. It's just so simple and so beautiful. And I know it tastes good, but I think what happens first is the smell is its own meal and then it becomes something you could taste
