Midnight Musings: Love

You I've been thinking a lot lately about love and especially with so many people lately coming and going in my life in just this year. People who've said they're friends or who've said they really care about me or who really love me. Many of these relationships have changed or have become so strained that it is obvious that it's better not to even be in relationship anymore

One of the things I am learning is that society has taught us to love other people from a space of possessiveness and control and not from a space of freedom and acceptance. And the healthiest way to love is from a space of acceptance. So first I love myself and then I love someone else from a space of acceptance, meaning I accept this person for who they are in this moment today

And then some people I have loved and lost or who have loved me and we're no longer in relation. And I can feel it. It feels like grief, it feels like loss or it may feel like pain. And no matter what, I would always be vulnerable and open myself to loving and being loved. Even though sometimes it can come with this
