NYC Audio Diary : Mom’s 90th - Celebrating in Style
I just arrived in New York City, came up from the 72nd street subway and there's a banjo player. I'm going to keep a little travel diary of my week here. I'm meeting my three sisters and my mom for her ninety th and we're going to see lots of shows and celebrate her life and I'm excited to share it with you. And I'm crossing the street now, so I don't want to hurt myself, so I'm going to just stop here

You're going to win. And if you don't win, just cheat and then you'll win. I believe in that. Thank you. Are you going to leave now? I have to go. Yeah, I've got a show. Max just left for his chess tournament, and Gail, you know, because she's I interviewed Dale on swell. She's an amazing therapist and we had a great conversation about mental health

I loved your walking and talking intro post earlier and sounds like you're having a great time with family and friends. And happy birthday to your mom. Enjoy your trip in New York. I love New York. Haven't been back in years and itching to go. Also, I love that your friend sister in law cousin I forgot which one it was was Megan just brushed over that two time Tony Award winning fact. But anyway, that's a super cool fact

That's awesome that you're getting to celebrate your mom's 90th birthday. My grandma, grandma Fern, she lived to 107, so hopefully your mom will follow suit and there'll be more adventures to come for you and the crew. But in my case, I've got to get out to New York

Reminds me of the days when I was a location scout for Law and Order. I literally would knock on doors and say, hello. Would you like to be on Law and Order? Anyway, I wanted to continue the thread here. The noise you're hearing now is a beautiful recess of lots of beautiful children. I'll leave that with you

And it's really nice to see her back in her native area. She's probably also in the Museum of Natural History somewhere in some cage, a likeness of her. Anyway, this is very close to the park. It's about a block from the park. So I'm just giving you an orientation at 77th and Central Park West

And there's a little island there's called Turtle Lake. And then we could see where Shakespeare in the park has performed right here. See? It so beautiful. I wish I could post more than one photo, but it's just a gorgeous area. You can look it up. Just look up Belvedere Castle in in your Google or your Bing or your Chat TPT

Columbia University. Right near one of my favorite little coffee shops. The hungarian pastry shop. Did you ever make it over there? Great place, jp

And they're talking, talking, but they're not really listening to each other. It's just one of them. I'll let you hear some more anyway. I'll take a little photo. Thank you, Eric. Okay, I'm getting the whole thing

I want you to think about something. You probably overlook these ears, and that is leaving your toothbrushes out on the counter for the maid to clean and use the sprays and the cleaners. And some spritz gets on that toothpaste and you'd want that in your mouth, right? Right. So what should we do? So you stick it in the nearest drawer or in the drawers in your bedroom with your makeup. Anything else?

I'm standing outside the theater and my sister singing the song. And my mom went to see Funny Girl. So before the show, we got a picture of her looking just like leah Michelle. It was a really beautiful song. And now you have my sister singing the most important song. It was so lovely. This is the sound of the crowd. After the show, I'll let you hear a little thank you. All these people people, give me flowers

So I wanted to share this photo from last night before I forgot, and let's keep on going. Anyone who's listening, whoever is listening, I know she was like, why am I listening to deborah's family? But this might just be a legacy for my mom to to listen to at her leisure. So I'm happy we're doing it

Oh, there you go. Because if you go out, they don't pick up they don't cost money to go back. Not only that, the people in like, Brooklyn or Queens or Sand Island or whatever, they don't pick up. The yellow cap. They used to call car service or whatever. Now Uber. Yeah, but now not the yellow cab. Do you like when we scream for you, like taxi? Or do you like us to wait?

No more email. conductor good evening. The musicians of the New York cinemas and I wish to honor the victims of the recent tragedy in Turkey, Syria. So, before we begin today's program, we offer a movement of thoughts to the memory of those lost as we hold those suffering in our hearts and minds. We know there are many worthy humanitarian organizations assisting with relief efforts. We urge you to consider supporting one of them of your personal trust

I'm just looking at the beautiful carousel here in Central Park. Here's the music. This is my travel photo of the week. There's an incredible history to this carousel. If you have a chance to look it up, look up New York Central Park carousel. This is a shot of just a bunch of red, random people coming out

So we just saw the beautiful Sleeping Beauty at the New York Ballet. And my mommy is what they used to call for, clemps. She was very moved. Tell us how you feel. I'm shaking with exhilaration. I think I have a fever from exhilaration. I've never seen anything so beautiful in my life. And I've gone to many, many shows. Shows. When we used to date, we went to shows every Saturday night

I just wanted you to hear the sound of the fountain. Very famous. It's the fountain that stands between the opera, the ballet and the philharmonic. Sorry, my brain is not working. Opera, ballet, philharmonic and also the juilliard School is right behind it. And then there's the theaters next to it. There's like seven different things. You can see in one area. And this is the sound of the fountain and a picture of us sitting in front of it

What's your wish, mommy. My wish is that we have many, many occasions to be all together. amen. amen. Are you going to blow out the candle? What? Are you going to blow it out when you eat it? yay

So I'm going to ask her her initial thoughts about not her initial thoughts, her final thoughts about her experience. Because it must be weird to see a show about a musical genius. And you were introduced to him through the show. I thought hold on. erica's, offer the crossgraph. Go ahead. Well, we had such a fabulous morning afternoon show excuse me. Since Sunday with the ballet, which, frankly, I was never a ballet fan

Our last meal. I'm just doing a little yeah. Of having me. All four of you. May you live to forfeit 8. May you live have to be four foot eight. That's a funny one. This is funny, right? No, because we shrink as we get old. I think if you stop it for a while. And may we live to hear many more complaints and criticism. What was your favorite part of the week?
