From the Bed of DBP: The COVID Conundrum #AskSwell

article image placeholderUploaded by @DBPardes
And I feel so much better, but I have a little residual cold and definitely pain from coughing. My aches are gone. I wanted to ask anyone who's had COVID to talk about sort of the COVID conundrum that I am in right now, which is how do you move through life knowing that COVID is sort of out there? And I'm a believer in taking precautions, which I think kept me safe up until now

One body, one life…

Hey, Mark. I just wanted to clarify the same feeling I have around the fact that this is I think it's endemic. I think it's what they call it because it is a flu. Now, COVID is a version of the flu, for sure. I think it's an insidious flu, but I think it's a flu. So absolutely

Moving on!

And it kind of begs the question for me, maybe I'm even more emboldened to go out now because it's one of those questions like hey, that's it. And I don't know whether this being a quick sickness and not that strong was a factor of just the virus getting weaker over time as it goes through variations or the fact that this was my second time getting it and antibodies were already built up

And so since then, I've become a lot more sensitive over it. Sorry, I got 30 seconds left. But my mindset towards socializing is, if I'm being honest, I don't really think about it too much anymore. Like I said, I was a little oblivious to the rise in COVID, but at the same time, I don't really socialize with too many people, if that makes any sense. Anyway, I hope that helped. I'm sorry if it didn't

Sorry. I just wanted to add one more thing. So you had also asked a question. How do you move through life knowing COVID is still happening? I guess regarding that, I move cautiously through life with it. When COVID had begun, I remember speaking with a lot of our pharmacists, especially my head pharmacist, about theories on how long they thought this was going to last. And I remember my pharmacist thinking it was only going to last a few months

@sengri_la @Phil

So it's such a personal conversation, really, in some ways, and to respect people's experiences is part of the beauty of this era is that we really get to talk about like, okay, that's who she is, and let's hold that. That's cool. So thank you for sharing your perspective and your experience. I really appreciate it

We don't have control over the viruses and bacteria that come our way, except, as you note, insofar as we decide how we're going to protect ourselves and by protecting ourselves, protect the others in our lives from potentially being subject to those viruses. So I want to flip your comment about how well, yeah, it's just like the flu now

Hi, Deb. I just wanted to chime in and say that I'm so sorry that you got sick with the COVID flu, and I hope that you're recovering fast and every day is getting better. Thanks for inviting me to the conversation. It made me think because I did hear in the news that this strain was back, but that the strain was not as serious as former strains, and so it was really not anything to really worry about

COVID continues its presence just like any other viral flu but it is more harmful from the rest #covid

Hi there. I hope you're feeling better now because you sound really sick and I'm so sorry I couldn't reply earlier and thank you for your invitation about COVID I guess I've been really fortunate that I did not have to experience what so many of for us have. I was lucky enough that I did not caught that. But yes, I have seen a lot of people in my family, in my neighborhood suffering because of the virus
